Preparation Method
- Place the water in the blender, followed by the blackberries, sugar, and lemon zest and juice. Select the PUREE setting. Once the cycle finishes, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve set over a medium bowl, then pour back into the blender. Select the SOUP setting and blend until the syrup is warm. Serve immediately. (Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks; note that the syrup will thicken as it cools.)
VARIATION: BLUEBERRY SYRUP
Substitute blueberries for the blackberries.
