Preparation Method
Make jalapeño syrup: remove seeds from jalapeno depending on desired level of spiciness. For a very spicy margarita, keep the seeds; for medium spiciness, remove half the seeds; for a mild margarita, remove all seeds. Add water, sugar and jalapeno half to blender in order listed. Select MANUAL/SPEED 5 and blend for 2 minutes. Pour syrup into separate container. Syrup will keep for up to 1 month in refrigerator.
Make margarita: add jalapeno syrup, grapefruit juice, lime juice, tequila and ice to blender in order listed. Select MANUAL/LO, gradually increase the speed to SPEED 8, and blend until ice is nearly dissolved, 10 to 15 seconds. Serve over ice.
